Villa Frangipani

been a while since our last gathering at a nice ambience environment.

this time is recommended by Florence and indeed the ambience was splendid. people who joined us were bro, flo, mag, hweeling, chris, josie, alliance, xiaomei, angela and myself.

first impression is like you've entered into a night safari theme cafe cos there were lotsa plants ard and the lights were dimmed. then when you explore ard, you wld be surprised to find out that there are a few small pavillions intentionally built on stilts extended out to the open wild. it'll be v.nice to crowd round the pavillion with 4-6 gd frens and chat the night away however the sad thing is, you've to spend a minimum of S$200 to make a reservation for this area.

nonetheless, our night was relaxing and full of laughter.. as always i guess.. but was long since such a big group of 10 again.

price wise for the drink list was reasonable i felt.. ranging from S$7 for soft drinks and fruit juices to S$10 for mocktails.

accessibility wise, it's difficult to reach this place without a car!

last but not least, hope Singapore has more of such gd ambience hideouts and inexpensive hopefully hee

Banyu Biru, Bintan

this is quite an overdue post... our first REM retreat to Bintan, Indonesia.

it was my first time to Bintan and the 8 of us stayed in a 3-bedrm villa in Banyu Biru. the 8 of us include bro, flo, chris, josie, jessie, andrew, ah ling and myself. the villa was v.nice! it has a big living area and a fully equipped kitchenette and a balcony on the ground floor. climbing up the stairs are 3 separate air-conditioned bedrooms. there were a total of 3 bathrooms but only the bathroom in the master bedroom come with a bathtub.

was a fantastic trip as we'd went canoeing and swimming during the day and even tried on ATV the next morning. this was my first attempt on the ATV and the experience was great esp on the uneven grounds haha!

dinner was superb as well bcos most of us went down to the kitchen to cook our best dishes. mine was curry chicken but was prepared by choong mama cos hor i nid2 go wrk earli morn ma so thot no time to prepare it upon arrival ma heez.

bro prepared ngoh hiang and fried yang taufou, jessie prepared baked beanie wif sausages and dessert, ah ling prepared spagetti wif ham and mushrooms in tomato based and josie prepared a unique dish - banana wrapped wif bacon and dipped wif honey.. it was very nice!

we skip chris for the cookin dis time cos he always cook for us and we thot of lettin him to try our skills but unfortunately he fell ill tat nite due to food poisoning so was in his greatest appetite to try the dishes.
afterwhich, he took some medicines and went to slp. lucky he was fine the nxt morn to join us for the ATV.

after dinner, all of us felt basically like gluttons cos we are damn full and there were much leftover too. tink we're too excited to show off our cooking skills tat day wahahhaha nah jus jokin la! then we sat at the sofa to watch tv for awhile then continued to play my favourite Risks! winner for that night is Bro cos his soldiers is accummulated until scary lor haha! mayb dis is wad we call strategy ba.

the buffet breakfast at nirwana resort was great.. went for a walk to the infinity pool and took some pix. was a great morn to begin our 1-hr ATV adventure. me and ah ling took the single seat ones bcos we dun hav any car license n only those who hav can sit in those twin-sharing ones. the experience was gd but hope tat the nxt one we go to in future wld hav more terrains... will be so much more exciting lorz... haha!
